Re: Simple "undo" function

Undo is one of the things that could be cool, in theory. But in my mind the code for that would be very, very tricky to write (especially once you factor in scripting and external tools) and difficult to debug. Lots of edge cases that would come up only once in a blue moon, with potentially disastro...

Re: build 1923 - new UI, part II

Ha! And I thought it's slow by design ;) - does it happens all the time? Yes, if a file is larger than few hundred kilos it will take a few seconds to open. - on which FS this happens? I've always had it like that, I think. Currently on Version 1.1.5 (1812) - what is hardware setup looks like? OS X ...

Re: build 1923 - new UI, part II

* Drag and drop seems to work much better then previously! Tested in VLC. * Copying file names -- looks good! * It looks like mouse wheel scroll doesn't work in brief mode (or any other mode except for the full view?). * BTW, I always wondered -- why is the file viewer so hellishly slow? It takes ar...

Re: build 1905 - the new UI

Yeah, in my mind there's absolutely no reason for scrolling the view without moving the cursor. I tried very hard to see why Apple went that way, but the only reasonable conclusion was that they were smoking something strong while dancing around the bonfire... and then sat down to design the UI ;) I...

Re: build 1905 - the new UI

Mike, my 2 cents: * Love the new dynamic brief mode! Just what I needed. * Judging from a couple of minutes of usage, the performance seems good. > Page Up / Page Down now actually scrolls the panel view, not moving the cursor inside it * And this is one of the EVIL things macOS does. Why on earth p...

Re: Some components of NC with MIT license

From a quick glance it looks quite cool! I'm not digging in since it's completely out of my area of expertise ;) but this kind of sharing might help with promotion / marketing, so it's a good idea.

Re: Date Added / Date Last Opened

Seems like something you could safely ignore then ;) Just support the Unix standard and see what happens in the future. From my point of view, modified date is a must, and created *might* be useful for someone in some special case. The rest... who cares? ;)
