Re: Command line
A shortcut to jump between the command line prompt and the panes would probably work for me. Is it possible to implement? Also, a bit different idea on how to approach it. What if we challenge the whole idea of the command line prompt below the panes being implemented as a proper shell? Is there a p...

Re: Files naming and branding
Let me recap my history.
Norton Commander
Volkov Commander
Far Manager
Files Manager
Total Commander was there somewhere.
Hmm. I definitely like "commander" over "manager"
"Admiral" sounds nice too (joking).

Re: Command line
Ha. This is exactly what I am after. Thank you. I can not advise on how to implement this thing, unfortunately. Just want to reiterate that this would be a killing feature! So if there is a need to override the basic terminal functionality, I'd be OK with that. If the panels get all the input and th...

Re: Custom command menu
When the "~" navigation shortcut to the $HOME has been added it was a blessing in disguise. It made me realise how much I miss a quick way to expand the base functionality with a few script commands. Similar to F2 menu in Far. 50% of those are just "cd somewhere". 25% "cd somwehere; run something". ...

Custom command menu [DONE]
As I mentioned a few times, I am switching from Win platform and Far Manager. And there is another item that I miss from Far Manager - the custom command menu - a pop up tied to a keyboard shortcut where I could hook up my shell commands and/or scripts. p.s. Files Manager is already the key tool for...

Command line
Just wanted to register my keen interest in the command line below the panes. I understand that there is an easy shortcut to get to the terminal, yet, being a Far Manager power user, I think it is the synergy between the panes and the command line is what leads to the productivity gain over the plai...

Re: Third party tools support
Plugin enabled architecture is crucial, no question about it. But it has to be thought through carefully. As it was noted before - not to stretch too thin. My take would be to focus on the API, easy integration and plugin templates. Leave the functionality like SFTP to the plugin devs. An I am class...

Re: Huge slowdown in Modern appearance
Not sure if I can hep with that. 10.10.4 is out, and, interestingly enough, it does seem to have helped in my case.
Though for me there were quite a few issues around the system. Not only files.

Re: Auto update for the standalone version
I feel your pain.
The feature would be very much welcome. Akin to what IntelliJ does - a pop up is an offer of auto updating.
Downloading and installing an update manually is indeed a nuisance. Would love that.

Re: Files naming and branding
I would actually second that. When I was just starting on the mac platform a dual pane file manager was my number one concern. So I searched for a far manager like option. Unfortunately "Files Manager" did not come up in any of my searches and it was a sheer luck that someone mentioned it on one of ...
