ID3 tag

Post by Windefalk » Mon May 01, 2017 9:43 am

Hi!
First... I f***g love this product. I have been waiting for a product that can compete with Total Commander for Windows. =)
Anyhow... I would love to see a ID3 tag editor for this with multi rename capability.

Thanks =)

Thanks, man, and welcome to the forum!
Can you clarify a bit - do you mean the possibility to use some filetype-specific information in the Batch Rename tool, or the ID3 editor itself?

I vote for group renaming with information from ID3

This will be a real help in such situations: the files are not in unicode, when they are unpacked on the MAC OS they look wrong. But in the tags the information is stored correctly.

If NC supported plugins, that would certainly be a great use-case for one. But if NC remains as it is, I personally think it's a too-specific feature for a file manager.

Two ideas:

Do you know "A better Finder Rename" (http://www.publicspace.net/ABetterFinderRename/)? It's a great tool for renaming in general. I'm using it for exactly this purpose.

If you want to stay within NC, probably you can figure something out using external tools? You can pass the filenames of the selected items to an apple script etc.
