build 1661 - external editors improvements

Post by mike » Wed Jul 06, 2016 12:09 pm

Hi,

What's new:
  • External Editors now can be used with any VFS, i.e. with network connections, archives, and even with extended attributes VFS.
Even more, like with association-based files opening, NC can now update remote files with external editors too.
What does it mean, for example: you can connect to FTP/SFTP site and locate, say, ".htaccess" file that you want to change.
Then simply hit F4 (without Fn modifier! 8-) ) and vi will appear - make any changes, close it and NC will upload changed file back to remote server.
  • Fixed an issue with unmountable volumes (like USB flash drives) that was locked by built-in terminal and could not be ejected.
Also, Eject Volume command will now force the ejection on busy volumes.
  • Built-in terminal will no longer produce "pwd: .: Invalid argument" message on USB sticks with FAT32
  • Some improvements in handling of symlinks inside archives
Here's the build itself:
