NC on Mojave & Full Disk Access

Post by JayB » Thu Sep 06, 2018 9:40 am

Has anyone tested on the public beta, if Full Disk Access for NC in Mojave works? I haven't upgraded to Mojave yet, but it seems you have to manually add NC to the list in System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy > Full Disk Access.

But it also depends if NC was built against the Mojave SDK or one of the earlier SDKs. Building against 10.13 or earlier might not change anything for the users if you upgrade to Mojave.

I've installed Mojave on my main machine - can confirm these problems with additional security restrictions.
Gosh, they broke so many things in this version of MacOSX - I don't know even where to start...

That's why, with the speed of change in tech in general, I'm scared when I see things people ask to be added to NC. Complex things that are tricky to implement and event trickier to maintain. The only option to keep up with the changes, being a solo programmer, is to limit the list of features, focus on the important stuff and be merciless about stuff that won't make the cut.

Yeah, that's amplified by Apple's ecosystem where there's the combination of a lack of documentation and a tendency of the platform holder to break things over and over :)
