Re: Batch Rename Tool [N#-#] Range Should Default to 255 [DONE]
Saw the recent change in the new version. Thank you!! Works great. doesn't the [Nxxx-] placeholder fits better in this use-case? E.g. [N5-] to pick all characters starting with the fifth. Yes [N5-] works well when the range is towards the beginning of the filename. But when you need something in the...

Re: Batch Rename Tool [N#-#] Range Should Default to 255
Yeah, that's seems right to me, too. If you select a file then you should see that one when selecting the range. But it seems like the longest filename would be a better default than the first filename when nothing is selected. I'm usually renaming hundreds of files as a time, so it would be a giant...

Batch Rename Tool [N#-#] Range Should Default to 255 [DONE]
Hi, When using the batch rename tool, I often use the Range [N#-#] function. However, it is rather inconvenient to use because the default selection is based on the top filename in the list, NOT the longest filename in the list, which makes it easy to inadvertently chop off some characters. I think ...

Re: Compare folders
Hello again, I had this working at some point with the diff workaround but it's not working now. Do you know what the correct parameters are to compare the two active panes? Did it change perhaps when I upgraded to Big Sur? Either way: to expand on what the desired result would be for this feature r...

Ability to see hotkey binds by pressing the hotkey.
Hello, I have a couple of other apps that have this functionality and it's killer. Probably my favorite implementation is in Reaper (http://reaper.fm/) where there is a button that says "Find hotkey" (it actually says "find shortcut" but in NC it should say hotkey) and when you click it a little pop...

Re: Standard File Info
This is an old thread, but I was also struggling with this as I occasionally need to get the Finder info for a file. In Catalina, I made application specific shortcuts for Nimble Commander. You have to make sure the capitalization matches exactly (and that those options are available in the Services...

Re: Ability to Customize Toolbar Icons and Toolbar Tooltips
regarding icons - NC uses the generic system mechanics to pick them, so putting your custom icon for a file will do the trick. I don't think that will help in my case since there is no file involved so there would be no way to use a custom icon. Or am I missing something? If there's a workaround, p...

Ability to Customize Toolbar Icons and Toolbar Tooltips
Hello, A few of my tools are just simple terminal commands, there is no application associated with them. For example: caffeinate, or shasum. When I put any of those tools on my toolbar, they don't have an icon so they show as empty space. Most of the time I remember which one is which (and the ones...

Re: Settings I'm trying to find...
Hello again, So as I mentioned before I originally downloaded the free version from the Apple store. I've finally gotten around to buying a license, so now I've downloaded the version from your website. I'm having a hard time figuring out where the Nimble Commander preferences are stored. Specifical...

Re: Compare folders
Sorry, I didn't quite understand that. Can you walk me through it? Or point me to a link that describes the process? It would be way better to have NC do it automatically, but a decent workaround is using the terminal command "diff" if you can feed the full paths of both panels easily. But I'm not q...
