Re: Spotlight search integration

I'm looking forward that. I think Spotlight integration in Files has a lot of potential.

Re: Change scrolling behavior, scroll bars

Thanks for the technical insight, Mike, interesting stuff. I like Files' fast navigation performance. If including those ideas means lots of refactoring and worse performance, I prefer the current state. Darek, I'm also mostly working with keyboard only :) But in my opinion that doesn't mean Files s...

Re: build 1515 - 1.1.1 release candidate

Hi Mike, I'm looking forward to trying it out, thanks for the quick update. Here are some comments on items relevant to me: - improved dragging from temporary panels Yes, works better now. - new ^F7 hotkey to rename item in place (viewtopic.php?f=5&t=79) You probably mean CTRL+F6 :) Works nicely in ...

Re: Renaming files while QuickLook is active [FIXED]

Hi Mike, inline rename is a very nice new feature, thanks for including it. In build 1515, somtimes it produces unexpected behavior, especially with mouse clicks involved. Here's a quick example video. Pressing CTRL+F6 twice and clicking on some other file creates an input area that never disappears...

Change scrolling behavior, scroll bars [DONE]

In build 1491, scrolling with the mouse wheel (or touchpad) inside a panel currently moves the selection bar. Instead, it should rather scroll the panel's content (like e.g. in Finder) and not change the selection. Same goes for FN+arrow keys. They should also scroll the content, not move the select...

Re: Mount/Unmount

Darek, when "Eject Volume" didn't work for me, usually there was some process (Terminal, Finder window, ...) running somewhere. Terminating it usually enabled "Eject Volume" to work properly for me. Do you have a case where it often fails? If so, does a manual eject using "umount" in Terminal work i...

Spotlight search integration [DONE]

After heavily using Files for a month, here is one thing I would like to have: a simple Spotlight search integration. Using "File > Find..." is often too complex for a simple fuzzy search. Here, the OSX built-in Spotlight (CMD+Space) is great: fuzzy input ( irrelevant order, filename or content...) ...

Simple "undo" function

A simple "undo" function for actions like move to trash, move, copy, rename etc. would be useful to me. There is a "Edit > Undo" function already implemented, but I couldn't figure out what it's supposed to do.

Open in new tab in opposite panel [DONE]

I use the following work flow a lot: 1) Perform a search, create a temporary panel from results 2) Selecting a file in the temporary panel and "File > Open in opposite panel" (OPT+Enter) Step 2 is repeated many times, but previous panels are "overwritten" by new ones. It would be very useful to me t...
