Re: build 1362 - new directory listings, Pt. III

Yeah, exactly. After I press something (like an arrow key) aText works. It just doesn't work right after the window shows. And it happens only in this place, as far as I can tell. Other input fields in Files work well. Strange stuff :)

Re: build 1362 - new directory listings, Pt. III

Yeah, Apple has a weird approach to backwards compatibility. The like to break stuff and assume developers are there to update their software. Which makes me feel uneasy with each system upgrade, because I know that some tools I use are sure to stop working. I prefer the Windows way, where things ma...

Re: Move & Replace : Input Mode activation

Just tried files-1.1.0(1363) on Yosemite and the input focusing works properly, as it was in the past. On the other hand aText and the "ddate" shortcut doesn't work properly, as it wasn't working in the past. So overall, no changes for me ;) What's weird, the aText problem happens in the copy/move s...

Re: build 1362 - new directory listings, Pt. III

Mike, just tried it and here's the thing: * The BIG one: copying, moving, etc doesn't work anymore. F5, F6 seem to change the focus away from the main window, but don't actually bring the dialog window up. Two things: I'm on Yosemite here and I remember changind the system setting to make these kind...

Re: build 1341 - new directory listings, Pt. II

Hey Mike, it looks like it's relatively safe now to give that new build a try :) I'll install it today. As for real achives vs MSOffice/LibreOffice files. Total Commander has a good approach to this, I think: * ENTER always does the most sensible thing, the behavior you'd probably want most often, t...

Re: JIRA / Issue tracker

Actually, I was going to suggest this too. Issue tracker could be useful, but having used all those three tools, I wouldn't go overboard with any of them. Assuming that Files is targeted at pros, I'd suggest issue tracker that the most programmers and tech people are exposed to: GitHub tracker. Now,...

Re: Move & Replace : Input Mode activation

don, I don't see that on my side. After pressing SHIFT+F6 I can either start typing right away, or use left/right arrows to move the cursor around. No clicking necessary (that would drive me mad). This works more less like in Finder. With one exception. I'm using atext, "ddate" is a shortcut I use f...

Re: Ability to reveal file/folder by passing commandline arguments

Oh, I was just asking because the way you've said it it seemed as it was some obvious setting that I've missed ;) Personally, I don't care about this feature, it's very low on the priority list. I'd expect it wouldn't work reliably in all places anyway, as various programs may implement "Show in Fin...

Yes, only two hard things: cache invalidation, naming things and off by one errors ;)

Re: Ability to reveal file/folder by passing commandline arguments

migun, wait, so you're saying that for example in Lightroom, there's a way to change that "Show in Finder" option to "Show in Files"?
