Re: Export network connections

Hey, It's possible to implement this functionality without changing NC itself. A relatively straightforward Python script could traverse a JSON in "~/Library/Application Support/Nimble Commander/Config/NetworkConnections.json", gather the connections and their names, and then find the according pass...

Re: Batch Rename Tool [N#-#] Range Should Default to 255

Hey, I agree this behaviour is a bit confusing. Probably the issue is that when there's no item selected NC implicitly picks the first one. Likely it would be better to pick the longest filename in this case instead. Otherwise, if there's a selection in the list, that item should be picked as it is ...

Re: Build 3308 - Improvements in the built-in terminal

Hi Mike. I'm on build Version 1.4.0 (3777) using zsh via Homebrew and am running into a similar issue to the one that a few people described earlier in this thread (Terminal just displays a black window with a cursor, does not respond to any inputs). [...] It's a little bit odd, because from the lo...

Build 3777 - RegEx-based file masks

Hi folks, Another preview of v1.4 is here. What's new: Find Files and (De)Select By Mask now both support masks based on regular expressions. Also reformatted the UI of the Find Files dialog to make it more laconic. Fixed an issue with incorrect horizontal alignment of a scroller in a Brief presenta...

Re: Search panel should remember more stuff

I agree that such option would be beneficial.
In fact I'm currently working on the UI of the file search to support the new regex search capabilities.

Re: Search giving double results

Well... that's thank to the weird filesystem mounts introduced IIRC in macOS10.15. De-facto the same file is accessible via different paths. In theory I can start doing some filtering, like ignoring inodes of the already visited directories, but that's a rabbit hole - what if instead somebody does w...

Re: how to cancel current operation?

Hi, I've just checked the cancellation - it worked.
Literally clicked on the "X" button next to the progress bar and the upload was cancelled.
Anything special about your setup?

Re: how to cancel current operation?

Hi, Well there are two kinds of asynchronous operations - one is the fully fledged file operations with a progress bar in the middle of a window, they can be cancelled by clicking on the (X) icon. Another is like opening a directory, reloading a listing, calculating sizes etc, it can be cancelled vi...

Re: every time I start NC it shows only one window

Hello, This information is stored per app-identifier by the system: "~/Library/Saved Application State". It can't migrate between the versions of the app - they have different application ids. Just to double-check - is the checkbox in "System Preferences -> General -> Close windows when quitting an ...

Build 3736 - opening compressed files

Hi all, Here's the next preview build of NC, now v1.4. What's new: Updated the icon to be squarish; Now NC supports opening compressed / non-archived files, i.e. with these extensions: .bz2, .gz, .lz, .lz4, .lzma, .lzo, .xz, .z, .zst. There are some limitations though - this new VFS expands the comp...
