Re: Extension alignment in the Brief mode

Ha! This is among the first things I've always turned off in Total Commander ;) It can be confusing, sometimes even dangerous. One example: consider how Unity (gamedev engine) is adding an extra .meta helper for each file. Now, if you were to delete or copy market.png file, which one would you take?...

Re: Version 1.2.1 released

The comment above is either an elaborate spam or a very funny/intriguing mistake :) I'd love to hear the story behind this.

Re: Pathname completion (e.g., via TAB keypress)

I see you went with Unix style completion. Personally, I like how Total Commander does it. It's more like hinting there, similar to how code completion (suggestions) work in code editors. So as soon as I start typing it starts suggesting me options, which I can either use or keep typing to override....

Re: Build 2971 - viewer rewrite

Oh man... Viewer was definitely the weakest part of Nimble Commander. It was lagging on larger files and often not very reliable, taking few tries to open a file, especially on remote connections. But now... I'm LOVING it. From a quick check the new version looks very snappy and perfectly reliable. ...

Re: Some questions

it just seems like a useful feature for a speedy commander I've been living in Commanders since Norton in DOS days and honestly, I don't remember ever thinking "If only I didn't have to press ENTER after F6, life would be much easier" ;) Yeah, it's a minor feature request, probably very easy to imp...

Re: NC on Mojave & Full Disk Access

That's why, with the speed of change in tech in general, I'm scared when I see things people ask to be added to NC. Complex things that are tricky to implement and event trickier to maintain. The only option to keep up with the changes, being a solo programmer, is to limit the list of features, focu...

Re: Does NC have a future? C++

It pains me to see NC in its "early abandonment" stages as I was (emotionally) involved in this tool for a long time. A few quitu thoughts: This kind of software is definitely niche, but I'd believe it should be able to support a rich lifestyle of a single programmer. There are people who'd pay well...
