File already exists dialog [FIXED]

Post by deseven » Thu Sep 15, 2016 8:08 pm

Image

Enter doesn't perform a default action.
Tab doesn't do anything.
Arrows select between last two buttons only.
Escape acts as hide (why?).

Also it would be nice to have shift+enter act as "overwrite all".

P.S. I'm not sure if i should create a new topic for every bug i found, maybe i should use github instead?

* proper keyboard navigation here -- oh yes, please! reaching for mouse every time this comes up is annoying.
* "overwrite all" - definitely needed

:)

Hi, focus moving was already fixed, like d0ublezer0 said.

Am I correct that suggested Shift+Enter should work as
- check Apply to all
- click Overwrite
?

Well, I think this is a good trick to reduce the number of buttons and at the same time - saving functionality.
Then Shift + Enter - at any selected button in overwrite dialog should work as "apply to all, then do action"?

Lets dig more deeper  :
Also I suggest adding pressed Shift to mouse clicks on the button, which will also act as "apply to all".
Less clicks - better interface :geek:

Yep, you can even make checkbox "Apply to all" checked on-the-fly while user holds shift.

Ok, now after pressing any button via keyboard or mouse with Shift pressed - Apply To All will be set automatically.
Also, new hotkeys in this dialog:
Enter - Overwrite button.
Cmd+Esc - Abort button.
