Drag & drop from Trash not possible [CLOSED]
Drag & drop from Trash not possible [CLOSED]
v3532 nothing happens if I drag a file from Trash.
Re: Drag & drop from Trash not possible
I delete a file or a folder, open Trash in Finder, drag a file out and drop it on a panel in NC. The file makes this animation where it flies back to its place in the Trash. Dragging from Trash to Finder works as expected. Dragging files from Finder to NC works as expected.
Re: Drag & drop from Trash not possible
Some detail is missing here.
I just checked this again and dragging from Trash to NC worked as expected...
Could you compose an exact set of steps with their context?

Re: Drag & drop from Trash not possible
I’m really not sure how I can describe it better. I’ve recorded a video https://streamable.com/mvprpw
You see how I delete files and try to drag them from the Trash, it doesn’t work. Then I drag them on a Finder window and it works.

Re: Drag & drop from Trash not possible
Thank you, I was finally able to reproduce the issue on my side.
The "missing link" is the origin of NC - seems that sandboxed versions (i.e. coming from MacAppStore) are affected, while a standalone version works as expected.
I'll fix the problem.

Re: Drag & drop from Trash not possible
Glad I you could reproduce it. But my NC is not from the App Store, it’s the standalone from the homepage.
Re: Drag & drop from Trash not possible
Huh, that was unexpected
Anyway, it has become clear what's happening - NC can't accept items dragged from Trash when it doesn't have a "Full Disk Access" (System Preferences->Security & Privacy).
The sandboxed-regular thing was another way to trigger this difference in my case, but not the source.
All versions behave the same way in fact - when the full disk access is provided they work as expected, and vice versa.
I'll try to at least show some message box in the case of missing rights.

Re: Drag & drop from Trash not possible
Oh man, Apple and their stupid right management. That was it, after granted full disk access it works as expected. Thank you!
Re: Drag & drop from Trash not possible
Two general notes: (1) your file manager should always be on the FDA list ; (2) your file manager should never be macOS Finder.
