Buffer

Post by babmo » Fri Jun 24, 2022 12:13 am

Is there a way to add files to a kind of buffer, on which operations can be performed? For example, I have
- Folder 1
--- File A
--- File B
-Folder 2
--- File C

I would go to Folder 1, add File A and B to buffer, go to Folder 2, add File C to buffer, and e.g. move all three files at once to another location. Alfred has thism but it’s a bit clunky, it would be cool to do it from the file manager.

NC supports so-called temporary panels, but their availability is rather limited now.
Using file search you can 'panellise' your search results from multiple directories (click the 'Panel' button) into a flat list and operate on all these items at once.

I know about panellizing search results, but it doesn’t help if the files/locations are very different. It would be cool if there was a feature like "send selection to temp panel", or a shortcut to *mark* files, which would be persistent and then you can do stuff with marked files regardless of selection.
