Renaming files while QuickLook is active [FIXED]
Renaming files while QuickLook is active [FIXED]
Hi,
currently, files in one panel can't be renamed (F6 or shift+F6) while QuickLook (Space or CMD+Y) is active on the other panel. It would be helpful if they could.
Thanks.

Re: Renaming files while QuickLook is active
Hi Sasha,
Ok, it seems that such restriction was unnecessary - I've removed it.
Also, I've added a hotkey for editing filenames in place, like with a single mouse click - ctrl+F6.
Mike.

Mike,
on build 1491, this doesn't work for me.
-Files or folders can't be renamed using F6 or Shift+F6 when QuickLook is active. The menu items Command > Rename... are still greyed out.
-Quick filename editing is a great idea! Doesn't seem to be included in this build, though.

Available in 1515.

Hi Mike,
inline rename is a very nice new feature, thanks for including it. In build 1515, somtimes it produces unexpected behavior, especially with mouse clicks involved.
Here's a quick example video. Pressing CTRL+F6 twice and clicking on some other file creates an input area that never disappears and doesn't change the filename:

Glad to hear it was easy to fix!migun wrote:Oh, there're was no check that field editor already exists.. missed that side effect, just fixed it.
Sure! That's the built-in QuickTime Player, New Screen Recording (CTRL+CMD+N). The keystrokes are displayed using keycastr (https://github.com/keycastr/keycastr).migun wrote:BTW, can you tell how are you making these videos? They looks great.
