Panels Layout "List" add EXT column

Hi Mike

Is it possible to separate out the file extension into its own column ?
So for the panel layouts with layout type set to "list" add another column option for EXT
so that you can move the EXT out to that column, which makes it easier (for me at least) to see the file extensions im working with.
Its also then makes it possible to sort by EXT as you can then click the header to sort by EXT.

Thanks

Yep, it's possible to add this column.
Although I'm not sure about removing an extension from a filename - this can lead to some fancy side-effects.
What do you think about showing an extension in both columns?

HI Mike

Yeah that could work.
I know i keep referencing TC....and im sorry for that, its just my easiest way to explain :P

How its done in TC is you see the EXT only in the column however as soon as you rename etc "Shift F6"
the file name and ext are in one line. (so it cosmetically shows the file and ext as seperate and you can filter on that, but when editing the file its seen as one)

I hope an extension column.
I think the file name column side extension needs separate show / hide settings.

Well, if you need to see only zip files you can always use cmd + = shortcut

if the case is only to sort with extensions there's already a sort option (using the last preview 3114)

As for the extensions remove, there's a system wide option in Finder
So, it might be easy to bring this option to NC as well?
