build 1607 - navigation keys remapping

Post by mike » Thu May 12, 2016 4:03 am

Greetings!

Slowly but surely the process of renaming/migration is going on, here's the next build:
http://magnumbytes.com/downloads/previe ... (1607).zip
(finally I've got a decent VPS instead of a crappy shared hosting)

What's new:
- Added support for remapping of main navigation keys. (http://filesmanager.info/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=61)
- Added "revert to default" button on every hotkey in Preferences->Hotkeys tab, so it's easier to experiment with keys layout now.
- Removed "Apply" button in Preferences->Hotkeys tab: any changes applies immediately now.
- Fixed an issue with case-changing renaming of directories. (http://filesmanager.info/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=106)
- Fixed a connection problem with SSH-less SFTP servers.
- Added a default setting for checksum verification while copying/moving items.

Mike.

Mike, as for VPS: I've been pretty happy with DigitalOcean and recently started experimenting with Linode. Happy with that one too. Both very respectable and work well. Linode has been having some downtime drama around Christmas, but hopefully this won't be repeated, because overall I like it a little more than DigitalOcean.

Yep, I chose DigitalOcean and like it so far. Was quite surprised of overall user-friendliness - I was expecting something like an awful VMware console, but seems that overall handling of Linux VMs is not painful nowadays.

Navigation key remapping - just wanted to check if multiple mappings are possible.

I use a full size external keyboard and for now using Karabiner to redefine keys just for Nimble.
Is having multiple bindings possible? If possible - is it hard to implement?

Just thinking aloud here...

Don,
Nope, currently only a single hotkey for an action can be configured.
I can in theory let multiple hotkeys to be defined for non-menu actions (like panel navigation), but it would require some rearrangements in current hotkeys management system.
It is possible to test your ideas now, with single hotkey per action?
