Re: Command line
Darek, thanks for explaining TC's approaches to this problem. The main issue here is that TC, basically, has just a TextField to write something here and sometime later to execute the whole string on a separate window. But with fair-shell approach your keyboard input is immediately passed to another...

build 1165 - overlapped terminal draft
Hi everybody! Here's a preview version of what is going on the field of overlapped terminal integration: http://filesmanager.info/downloads/previews/files-1.0.8(1165).zip I've done some basic stuff here and any feedback on current status would be much appreciated. Keymap: ( hardcoded for now and may...

Re: Command line
Well it seems to me that such "mixed" behaviour is simply not possible. Consider keys like arrows and tab - they are used even in bash, not to mention more sophisticated software like mc. ( yep, you can run midnight commander beneath file panels :) ) And even worse - someone (like me) would prefer n...

Re: Custom command menu
don,
Can you expand, what functionality such menu should provide?
Currently it looks like a list of 3rd party tools from a nearby topic, but to be executed in terminal, right?

Re: Huge slowdown in Modern appearance
Kabuto, what kind of movie files they were?
I can try to reproduce such behaviour somehow, but currently had never encountered such issue for myself.

Re: Command line
Just wanted to register my keen interest in the command line below the panes. I understand that there is an easy shortcut to get to the terminal, yet, being a Far Manager power user, I think it is the synergy between the panes and the command line is what leads to the productivity gain over the pla...

Re: Files naming and branding
Guys, I generally agree that "Files" name is not great name from the branding point of view. But just wondering about one thing - are we using different Googles? :D Here're query positions for mine: 1. file manager mac 4.4 2. mac file manager 4.7 3. mac file explorer 4.6 4. file explorer mac 4.1 5. ...

Re: Third party tools support
I see it pretty much like your current integration of editors, but on steroids :) So: native UI, don't wait for their completion, don't know about VFS and archives (I don't understand the question to be honest, so I'm guess it's not something I'd need), and no need for passing results to Files (sin...

Re: Third party tools support
Mike, I think if you've added an easy way to support third party tools it would give Files a huge extra power without much work on your part. I'm thinking about something simple: you pick an app (or just a binary) and then it can get arguments based on what's going on in Files' windows. Examples of...
