I would be very much interested in checking out how other users configure their Files Manager.

Re: Share your themes!
I can share my settings:
- Modern appearance
- Default colouring
- Volume information bar is turned off
- "Soft filtering" is turned off, no modifiers in Quick Search and Where to search = Anywhere. Saves me a lot of time when navigating.

Re: Share your themes!
What is soft filtering?
Re: Share your themes!
Hehe, Don, I was about to ask about the same thing
Re: Share your themes!
Menu->Preferences->Panels->Quick Search: there's check box called "Soft filtering".
Perhaps it's not the most obvious name
When this option is ON - after typing the cursor is moved to first matching filename and you can move it between other matching filename using modifier+keys, but other items in directory are still displayed.
When this option is OFF - after typing some text Files will show only items with matching filenames.

Re: Share your themes!
Thank you. I was not aware of that functionality. It is great.
What is interesting - I am not sure Far does that. Or have I missed it?
If Far indeed does not do that - then Kudos on working out the new workflow for the dual pane commander. It is indeed getting better and better.
p.s. Just wanted to reiterate that you are at the forefront of the battle with my biggest problem with mac - lack of decent dual pane commander.
Thank you.

Re: Share your themes!
I've never experimented with this "soft filtering", since the name sounded like nothing important But now it looks like I prefer it to be OFF as well!
One more question, you said that when it's ON "you can move it between other matching filename using modifier+keys"... what does that mean? What keys are those exactly?
EDIT: Now I see that this is something you define at Quick Search preferences, but if I have "No modifiers" set up, how do I jump between matching filenames?

Re: Share your themes!
don,
AFAIK there's no such support in FAR, it was "imported" from TC due to some user's request.
darek,
Currently there's no way to use arrows to navigate between "soft filtered" items when "no modifiers" is set, it's a UI weakness in Files.

Re: Share your themes!
Thanks for the hint.
Now I am using "Soft Filtering" as on with key modifier - like the ability to quickly jump between the selected files.
That effectively enables the functionality when all input which is not prepended with a key modifier can be routed to the command line.
Hehe. Let it be my personal "Carthago delenda est"

Ha! Didn't know it can be turned off now. Thanksmigun wrote:- Volume information bar is turned off
Otherwise I have the same setup with some filetypes coloring. BTW I'm going to create a topic later about how hard it is to figure out how to set up coloring properly with some propositions.
