Bug: random freeze/beachball when browsing SMB volumes

I have a problem with random NC freeze/beachball when browsing the SMB volumes, sometimes more, sometimes less often. Does not happen in Finder or Forklift.

macOS 12.6.6
NC 1.5.0

Anyone else having the same problem? It's getting worse, sometimes it's as often as every 4th-5th time I change the folder on SMB and whole GUI just freezes for several seconds with the beachball. Thank you for your help!

This is the message I can see in the console when NC freezes:
