Great job, Mike! I love the brief mode especially -- that's what I desperately needed. And it's great to see that the tool didn't lose its snappiness after switching the UI code. You did very, very well there

Can I put a bit of criticism?
Classic theme in new version is very different from previous version and looks unfamiliarly.
1. In previous version panels were visually well separated with double lines. Now the the separation is not clear.
2. There are no vertical column separators in brief mode. It complicates the perception.
3. Information in bottom panel became too overloaded after merging into one line. Also date format is different from date format in list view.
4. But the ugliest thing is scrollbars. They are always visible, displayed with unconfigurable light color (on dark background) and have unconsistent behavior - horizontal scrolling in brief mode versus vertical scrolling in list mode.
The interface of previous version in classic mode was ideal for my almost 20-years habits.
If no any way to replicate it with settings in new or future versions (due any reason), then is any way to fallback to version 1.1.5?
p.s. sorry for my English, I can provide better explanation in Russian...

Yes, things have changed.
Sorry, but I don't have resources to maintain two absolutely different presentation modes with their own codebases and to add new features at the same time. It's very unlikely that ASCII-art decorations will return in NC.
If you can't stand this new UI - previous versions are always available here:

It seems that it is time to change my habits
I think, that if you find a way to provide ability to change scrollbar colors or make them transparent, than it will be a good feature.
Light scrollbars on dark background are very annoying.
In any case thank you for your great job.

Mike,
You did it, Classic Mode is out, Dark Mode is in.
Time to leave the yearnings about Tree Gold times with blue background.
The Dark Force is calling me now.

Mike, thank you for your hard work. This release made my day : ) Rethinked brief mode is great, especially in folders with lots of files.
