TC like Branch View feature
TC like Branch View feature
TC has a nice feature named "Branch View", you click "ctrl+b"(b for branch), TC will show a flat files list, the files are from subfolders of current folder.
It is a modern "tree" command and it's very useful to find files , I use it every day.
I am glad I can clone this feature in NC, NC search starts from current folder and can redirect search result to a panel, I just type "ctrl+f", clear the mask, choose search only files, and click "panel" button finally. I use 4 steps to make a tc like branch view.
Why not make a branch view feature directly? Ctrl+b is a unused hotkey, it is perfect for branch view.

It's would be really useful with NC quick filtering.
Re: TC like Branch View feature
Yes, I think branch view is only a special form of Temporary panels, you can filter files or do file operations, recent beta version improve Temporary panels's power. I hope next version will bring more features about Temporary panels , a short hand of search result Temporary panels will help.
Re: TC like Branch View feature
Just files, or dir's too?
Maybe two commands for files only, and for files with dir's?

Re: TC like Branch View feature
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OZzNENOPMvc, this video introduced branch view in TC.
When you click "ctrl+b" in select folders, it will show all the files in such folders(include subfolders). This feature is like "tree" command, it is a quick way to show files in a deep nested folder.
With Temporary panels feature, it can be instead of simple search most of time (you can filter the files directly with calling search panel).

Hi,
I am new to MAC and just found the Nimble commander and I love it.
I just wanted to know, if this Brach View feature was already implemented or if there it a plan to do so.
That was one of my favorite commands in Total commander.
Thanks and bye

Hi, there's no specific plans for this now.
Though just for my understanding - is that essentially the same as:

- Cmd+F <- open File Files
- Tab, tab, tab, down, down, enter <- search only for files
- Enter <- do a search
- Ctrl+P <- panelize

Hi Mike,
you are absolutely right.
This is a good work around.
The key is the "panelize" function, which I overlooked.
Thanks a lot.
