I've published the Nimble Commander's source code and build instructions on GitHub:

You're welcome to explore the source code, to experiment with it and possibly to contribute somehow.
I'm open to tech-level feedback in any form, however at the moment I don't plan to move the development itself into the classic open-source model.

That's really cool. I was able to build it successfully on my machine. Hopefully I will find some free time soon to experiment with that and perhaps add some features.
